Shipping & Delivery Policy
Complimentary Insured CourierAll-Inclusive Delivered Pricing
The delivery charges are included with the price of any Blade. You will never be presented with surprise shipping line-items or domestic freight fees. What you see listed for the forged article is your all-inclusive acquisition price.
1.1 Comprehensive Freight & Delivery Integration
At Woodland Blades, we believe the acquisition of an heirloom cutting instrument should be effortless and transparent. The delivery charges are fully included with the price of every Blade across our catalog. Whether you commission a compact everyday-carry Damascus pocket knife, a collector hunting bowie, a high-layer dagger, or a forged battle axe, standard insured courier delivery is encompassed within the listed figure.
1.2 Premier Courier Partners & Tracking Protocol
Due to the intrinsic metallurgical and artistic value of fine cutlery, we do not utilize standard postal channels. Every order is dispatched through our authorized priority courier partners:
- Express Couriers: Dispatched via DHL Express, FedEx Priority, or UPS Air depending on destination geography.
- Live GPS Tracking: Once your blade clears final artisan inspection and oil-quench packaging, a private tracking consignment number is dispatched via email and WhatsApp.
- Adult Signature Required: For security and statutory compliance, all parcels require the physical signature of an adult recipient (18+ years of age) upon delivery.
1.3 Order Processing & Dispatch Schedules
Each Damascus masterwork undergoes a rigorous preparation protocol prior to sealing:
- Catalog In-Stock Blades: Dispatched within 2 to 3 business days following order confirmation. Before parcel sealing, the blade is re-inspected under high magnification, hand-stropped, and conditioned with protective botanical camellia or mineral oil.
- Bespoke & Custom Commissions: Lead times vary according to billet folding complexity, handle lapidary sculpting, and sheath hand-stitching (typically 2 to 4 weeks, as established during atelier consultation). Dispatch occurs immediately upon client milestone approval.
- Estimated Transit Windows: Domestic transit typically completes within 3 to 5 business days. International shipments typically arrive within 6 to 10 business days, subject to regional customs processing.
1.4 Damascus Preservation & Armored Packaging
High-carbon Damascus steel requires meticulous barrier protection against ambient moisture during transit:
- Every blade edge is treated with a corrosion-inhibiting, food-safe microcrystalline barrier wax or mineral oil.
- Blades are secured within their respective heavy-grain genuine cowhide or kydex sheath with protective blade tip guards.
- The assembled knife and sheath are nestled inside a high-density, foam-lined presentation collector box, enclosed within an unmarked, tamper-evident exterior carton for maximum discreet transit security.
1.5 International Orders, Customs & Import Tariffs
We ship to collectors worldwide where edged tools and cutlery are lawful. All shipments are accompanied by official commercial declarations citing Harmonized System Tariff Code HS 8211 (Knives with cutting blades). While freight delivery charges are included in the price of any Blade, any localized import duties, VAT, or municipal inspection taxes levied by the recipient country's customs authority remain the statutory responsibility of the importing custodian.
Return & Exchange Policy
15-Day Exchange GuaranteeStrict No-Refund Policy • 15-Day Exchange Window
We do not do refunds, but we do exchanges. To apply for an exchange, your request must be submitted within 15 days after delivery. Please ensure the blade remains in its pristine, unsharpened, unused condition with all original presentation materials.
2.1 Why We Do Not Offer Monetary Refunds
Woodland Blades pieces are not mass-manufactured stamped consumer goods. Each Damascus blade is a singular work of functional fine art, forged through rigorous metallurgical heat-cycling, hand-welding alternating 1095 and 15N20 high-carbon steels, acid-etch contrast detailing, and individualized ergonomic handle contouring.
Due to the bespoke craftsmanship, specialized hygienic handling, and collector integrity of our catalog, we do not offer monetary or cash refunds once an order has been finalized or delivered. Instead, to guarantee absolute peace of mind, we provide a generous 15-day exchange protocol allowing you to exchange your piece for any other eligible blade or receive store credit toward an artisan commission.
2.2 The 15-Day Exchange Eligibility Window
You have fifteen (15) calendar days from the date of verified courier delivery (as stamped by the courier carrier tracking record) to lodge a formal exchange request. Requests submitted after the 15-day period are ineligible for exchange, though your piece remains covered under our Lifetime Craftsmanship Warranty against metallurgical defects.
2.3 Exchange Condition Requirements
To qualify for an exchange, the returned piece must satisfy our master smith inspection criteria:
- Pristine, Unused Condition: The blade must never have been used for cutting, field dressing, chopping, batonning, or display testing.
- Factory Edge Maintained: The blade bevel and apex must not have been resharpened, stropped with compounds, polished, or altered in any manner.
- Complete Presentation Suite: The blade must be returned with its matching hand-stitched leather sheath, certificate of authenticity, protective sheath wrap, and presentation gift box without physical blemishes.
- Bespoke Commissions Notice: One-off bespoke blades forged to personalized client geometries or engraved with personal monograms/inscriptions are strictly non-exchangeable unless there is a verified craftsmanship defect.
2.4 Step-by-Step Exchange Procedure
Our exchange process is designed to be seamless, cordial, and swift:
Contact our atelier at [email protected] or WhatsApp within 15 days of delivery. State your Order SKU and the piece you desire in exchange.
Our forgemaster reviews your request and issues an official Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) along with secure return transit packaging instructions.
Carefully repack the blade in its original armor box and dispatch via tracked, insured courier to our Oregon atelier address provided on the RMA.
Upon inspection (completed within 48 hours of receipt), we immediately dispatch your newly chosen exchange blade with full tracking.
2.5 Exchange Value Adjustments
When exchanging for a different item in our collection:
- Higher-Priced Selection: If your replacement blade exceeds the value of the returned piece, you will be sent a direct invoice for the difference.
- Lower-Priced Selection: If your replacement blade is of lesser value, the difference will be issued as a non-expiring Woodland Blades Atelier Credit for future cutlery acquisitions.
- Return Shipping Costs: For standard client preference exchanges (e.g. model or aesthetic preference), the collector covers the tracked return shipping postage back to the atelier, while Woodland Blades covers the dispatch of the replacement piece to you.
2.6 Natural Material Characteristics vs. Defects
Genuine Damascus steel exhibits organic ripples, rain-drop micro-variances, and unique high-contrast topography resulting from hand-hammered hammer strikes and ferric acid etching. Natural handle scales (burl wood, stag horn, stabilized timber) naturally feature organic grain shifts, knots, and tonal warmth. These are not defects; they are the indelible signatures of genuine handcrafted bladesmithing.
Should a piece ever arrive with a structural metallurgical defect (such as core weld delamination or cracked steel matrix), it is protected under our Lifetime Craftsmanship Warranty and will be repaired or replaced at no cost to you.
